how did i get here?

Mark Sunderland’s first assignment in advertising was a Mother’s Day ad for the spa at the Disney Institute. The visual was a mother with an avocado mask, hair wrapped in a towel. The headline was “This Mother’s Day, your mom should be institutionalized.” It never ran. But the brass took note.

More assignments followed. Then came the big wins. He helped launch Tower of Terror 4 and Mission: SPACE. He has written for global brands, turned small ideas into something bigger, and along the way shaken hands with three governors. Two in one day, which is a ridiculous pace.

Mark believes words should earn their place. That brevity is an art. That a well-turned phrase can stop someone in their tracks. He has spent a career trying to prove it.
