Trail System Naming
Palm Beach County needed a name for a sprawling network of multi-use trails connecting preserved lands, parks and natural areas.
The name Jeaga Wildways was inspired by the Jeaga people, who lived near the Wild & Scenic Loxahatchee River before European arrival in South Florida. It gave the trail system a sense of place, history and movement without sounding like a government infrastructure project.
